About the Work

PAT LEE — DESIGNER FIGURE

A cartoon figure with exaggerated ears and long limbs is suspended beneath or attached to a bright yellow balloon-like form. Grey, black and red accents structure the character, while the elevated arrangement gives the sculpture a sense of comic instability and weightlessness. The design draws on animation vocabulary and the physical exaggeration typical of contemporary collectible figures. Rather than presenting a self-contained standing character, the work uses vertical suspension and an oversized upper element to create a more dynamic silhouette. Its playful construction places it firmly within the field where illustration, product design and limited-edition sculpture intersect.
