About the Work
OKUDA SAN MIGUEL — SKULL – ART FIGURE
A faceted skull is constructed from numerous polygonal planes in bright blue, green, yellow, orange, pink and purple. Dark glitter-like eye sockets and a black nasal cavity contrast with the crystalline colour of the surrounding surface. Okuda San Miguel’s visual language is strongly associated with geometric fragmentation and rainbow palettes, and this sculptural object translates that vocabulary into a compact three-dimensional form. The skull motif introduces a traditional memento-mori reference, but the saturated colour and polished finish shift the mood away from morbidity toward contemporary pop spectacle, balancing symbolic subject matter with decorative intensity.
