About the Work
KAWASE HASUI — SPRING EVENING AT KINTAI BRIDGE
This later decorative edition revisits Kawase Hasui’s *Spring Evening at Kintai Bridge*. The arched bridge anchors the composition, while water, flowering trees and distant landscape create a layered setting that balances architectural structure with seasonal atmosphere. The supplied photograph shows the image clearly and supports the identification of the principal subject and orientation. Rather than treating the sheet as a period impression or unique work, the catalogue presents it conservatively as a later decorative reproduction, keeping the visual description separate from questions of authorship, date and edition. The image reflects the Japanese print tradition’s ability to combine narrative clarity with disciplined pattern, contour and negative space.
