About the Work
NOBUYOSHI ARAKI — FLOWER – PHOTOGRAPHIC PRINT
A vivid floral image fills the print, dominated by red and deep orange blossoms surrounded by darker leaves and pale pink-white petals. The flowers are cropped tightly so that the composition feels abundant and almost overflowing, with individual botanical details merging into a dense field of colour and texture. Araki’s photographic practice extends well beyond his better-known figurative imagery, and flowers provide another vehicle for exploring sensuality, transience and saturated visual experience. The supplied image has the intensity of a still life pushed toward abstraction, where colour and organic form become more important than conventional botanical description.
