About the Work
HASEGAWA TŌHAKU — PINE TREES IN MIST
This decorative print interprets Hasegawa Tōhaku’s *Pine Trees in Mist* through a clean, display-oriented presentation. Pine forms emerge through veils of mist and open paper, creating a deliberately spare landscape in which atmosphere and negative space are as important as the inked forms. The supplied photograph shows the image clearly and supports the identification of the principal subject and orientation. Rather than treating the sheet as a period impression or unique work, the catalogue presents it conservatively as a later decorative reproduction, keeping the visual description separate from questions of authorship, date and edition. The composition demonstrates the enduring visual appeal of Japanese print design, where atmosphere, pattern and concise storytelling operate together.
