About the Work
OHARA KOSON — EGRETS AND REEDS
This later decorative edition revisits Ohara Koson’s *Egrets and Reeds*. The bird motif is set against restrained botanical elements, with the contrast between finely articulated plumage and open background giving the image a poised, decorative clarity. The supplied photograph shows the image clearly and supports the identification of the principal subject and orientation. Rather than treating the sheet as a period impression or unique work, the catalogue presents it conservatively as a later decorative reproduction, keeping the visual description separate from questions of authorship, date and edition. Its balance of flattened space, decisive contour and carefully controlled detail gives the sheet a strong graphic quality suited to contemporary interiors.
