About the Work
KATSUSHIKA HOKUSAI — SOUTH WIND, CLEAR SKY
Presented as a later facsimile after Katsushika Hokusai, *South Wind, Clear Sky* retains the visual structure of the recognised composition. The composition is organised around a clear central motif, balancing expressive line, open paper and carefully placed areas of colour to create a strong decorative presence. The supplied photograph shows the image clearly and supports the identification of the principal subject and orientation. Rather than treating the sheet as a period impression or unique work, the catalogue presents it conservatively as a later decorative reproduction, keeping the visual description separate from questions of authorship, date and edition. Its balance of flattened space, decisive contour and carefully controlled detail gives the sheet a strong graphic quality suited to contemporary interiors.
