This later decorative edition revisits Kitagawa Utamaro’s *Three Beauties of the Present Day*. Three elegantly dressed women are grouped closely within the vertical format, their patterned robes and carefully arranged coiffures creating a measured rhythm across the sheet. The supplied photograph shows the image clearly and supports the identification of the principal subject and orientation. Rather than treating the sheet as a period impression or unique work, the catalogue presents it conservatively as a later decorative reproduction, keeping the visual description separate from questions of authorship, date and edition.
