About the Work
WU GUANZHONG — WHITE-WALLED HOUSES
Presented as a later facsimile after Wu Guanzhong, *White-Walled Houses* retains the visual structure of the recognised composition. White-walled houses, dark tiled roofs, waterways and sparse trees are compressed into a graphic landscape built from black accents, pale washes and open areas of paper. The supplied photograph shows the image clearly and supports the identification of the principal subject and orientation. Rather than treating the sheet as a period impression or unique work, the catalogue presents it conservatively as a later decorative reproduction, keeping the visual description separate from questions of authorship, date and edition. Its combination of expressive brush-like marks and carefully controlled emptiness translates effectively into a display-oriented decorative print.
