About the Work
TSUKIOKA YOSHITOSHI — THE MOON OF THE MOOR
Presented as a later facsimile after Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, *The Moon of the Moor* retains the visual structure of the recognised composition. A luminous moon provides the atmospheric focus, set against a darker landscape in which figures, trees and architecture are arranged to heighten the nocturnal mood. The supplied photograph shows the image clearly and supports the identification of the principal subject and orientation. Rather than treating the sheet as a period impression or unique work, the catalogue presents it conservatively as a later decorative reproduction, keeping the visual description separate from questions of authorship, date and edition. Its balance of flattened space, decisive contour and carefully controlled detail gives the sheet a strong graphic quality suited to contemporary interiors.
