About the Work
UTAGAWA KUNIYOSHI — BLUE-AND-GREEN LANDSCAPE WITH PAVILION AND MOUNTAIN
This decorative print interprets Utagawa Kuniyoshi’s *Blue-and-Green Landscape with Pavilion and Mountain* through a clean, display-oriented presentation. Layered peaks, trees and waterways are organised through alternating dense ink-like passages and pale atmospheric areas, creating depth without relying on conventional Western perspective. The supplied photograph shows the image clearly and supports the identification of the principal subject and orientation. Rather than treating the sheet as a period impression or unique work, the catalogue presents it conservatively as a later decorative reproduction, keeping the visual description separate from questions of authorship, date and edition. Its balance of flattened space, decisive contour and carefully controlled detail gives the sheet a strong graphic quality suited to contemporary interiors.
