TADANORI YOKOO — POSTER / GRAPHIC MULTIPLE
The vertical poster uses strong red-and-blue rays that converge toward a small central figure, framed by decorative borders, photographic inserts and bold lettering naming Tadanori Yokoo. Its structure recalls fairground graphics, psychedelic posters and mass-media collage rather than conventional fine-art composition. Multiple visual registers compete for attention: typography, portrait imagery, cartoon-like elements and optical pattern. This deliberate overload is characteristic of Yokoo’s graphic practice, which helped redefine post-war Japanese poster design through a mixture of popular culture, traditional references and international Pop aesthetics. The work retains the immediacy of an event poster while operating as a collectible graphic multiple.
