BANKSY — WALLED OFF HOTEL – SOUVENIR MULTIPLE
A miniature concrete wall section rises from a rectangular base, complete with architectural fragments, metal-like openings and graffiti inscriptions. A small stencilled rat motif appears near the lower right, introducing an image strongly associated with Banksy’s street practice. Rather than presenting a flat print, the object recreates the material conditions of an urban wall and turns them into a souvenir-scale sculpture. The weathered surfaces and rough edges are integral to the aesthetic, evoking demolition, borders and contested public space. The work sits between memorabilia, edition and sculptural multiple, reflecting the Walled Off Hotel project’s use of politically charged tourist-object formats.
