About the Work
HAJIME SORAYAMA — SEXY ROBOT – PRINT
A chrome female robot is shown against a saturated magenta background, the metallic body turning and bending as a flowing yellow fabric sweeps dramatically across the lower half of the image. The contrast between hard reflective anatomy and soft cloth creates the composition’s central tension. Sorayama’s highly polished robotic women merge idealised human form with machine precision, drawing on airbrush illustration, science fiction and fetishised industrial design. Here the bright flat background removes any environmental context, allowing the silver figure and yellow drapery to operate almost as graphic symbols. The result is theatrical, sensual and overtly futuristic.
