About the Work
WU GUANZHONG — SNOWY RIVERSIDE VILLAGE
The sheet reproduces the subject of Wu Guanzhong’s *Snowy Riverside Village* in a format intended for decorative display. Layered peaks, trees and waterways are organised through alternating dense ink-like passages and pale atmospheric areas, creating depth without relying on conventional Western perspective. The supplied photograph shows the image clearly and supports the identification of the principal subject and orientation. Rather than treating the sheet as a period impression or unique work, the catalogue presents it conservatively as a later decorative reproduction, keeping the visual description separate from questions of authorship, date and edition. Its combination of expressive brush-like marks and carefully controlled emptiness translates effectively into a display-oriented decorative print.
