About the Work
LI KERAN — BUFFALO AND HERD BOY
This decorative print interprets Li Keran’s *Buffalo and Herd Boy* through a clean, display-oriented presentation. A buffalo and young rider form the compact centre of the scene beneath dark foliage, the animal’s heavy body contrasting with the lighter human figure and surrounding open space. The supplied photograph shows the image clearly and supports the identification of the principal subject and orientation. Rather than treating the sheet as a period impression or unique work, the catalogue presents it conservatively as a later decorative reproduction, keeping the visual description separate from questions of authorship, date and edition. Its combination of expressive brush-like marks and carefully controlled emptiness translates effectively into a display-oriented decorative print.
