About the Work
HIROTO OHKUBO — INSTINCTOY MONSTER FLUFFY
A small owl-like fantasy creature is covered in soft pastel colours, with layered feather or fur textures shifting through blue, pink, yellow and mint. Very large glossy eyes dominate the face, while pointed ears and tiny feet give the figure a compact, animated silhouette. The gradient colouring is central to the object’s appeal, turning the surface into a luminous spectrum rather than a single uniform finish. Within designer-toy culture, such creatures combine hand-sculpted fantasy references with highly controlled production. This example emphasises tactility, colour variation and expressive eyes to create a character that feels simultaneously ornamental and vividly alive.
