CLEON PETERSON — END OF DAYS – PRINT
A stark red-and-black composition depicts a crowd of simplified human figures engaged in confrontation, domination and collapse within an architectural setting. The bodies are reduced to muscular silhouettes and sharply cut contours, creating the visual force of a frieze or political poster. Peterson’s work often uses an intentionally restricted palette to address power, violence and social hierarchy, and the absence of individualised faces turns the scene into an archetypal struggle rather than a specific event. The strong colour contrast and compressed space make the image immediately confrontational, while the repeated figures generate a relentless rhythm across the sheet.
