About the Work
CHOI JEONG HWA — FLOWER – DESIGN MULTIPLE
A spherical mass of vividly coloured flowers is assembled into a globe-like bouquet mounted on a dark trunk and circular base. Reds, pinks, yellows, greens, blues and whites are distributed across the entire surface, producing an object with no privileged front. The work transforms floral decoration into a sculptural structure whose density borders on visual excess. Choi Jeong Hwa’s practice frequently embraces synthetic colour, everyday materials and exuberant accumulation, challenging distinctions between art, decoration and popular spectacle. The spherical arrangement reinforces this all-over quality, inviting the viewer to read the piece as both botanical fantasy and deliberately artificial design object.
