About the Work
KASING LUNG — LABUBU – THE MONSTERS
A small brown furry creature stands frontally with long upright ears, oversized glossy eyes and a compact rounded body. The face combines a pale mask-like area with a tiny nose and sharply defined pupils, giving the character an expression that is both cute and slightly mischievous. Kasing Lung’s Labubu has become a central figure within The Monsters universe, and the design relies on the immediate recognisability of silhouette and facial features. In this collectible format, tactile-looking fur texture is translated into manufactured surface detail, illustrating the close relationship between illustration, character branding and contemporary designer-toy culture.
