About the Work
TAKASHI MURAKAMI X DORAEMON — DORAEMON – PRINT
The image is an exceptionally dense collision of Murakami’s smiling flowers, Doraemon characters, cartoon faces and brightly coloured graphic motifs. A large red door-like shape anchors the lower centre, but the surrounding field resists hierarchy, filling almost every available space with recognisable pop elements. The composition reflects the logic of Superflat, where commercial illustration, manga, character licensing and fine-art production occupy the same pictorial plane. Its pleasure comes partly from visual excess: individual motifs remain legible, yet they also merge into an all-over decorative system whose intensity rewards repeated close viewing.
