About the Work
INVADER — HOMEWORKS, 2006
The sheet is structured like graph paper, covered with repeated red pixelated invader forms and small black marks arranged in a loose grid. The deliberately low-resolution motifs recall early arcade graphics and the ceramic mosaics for which Invader is best known. Repetition produces a pattern that is playful but systematic, with each alien functioning as both independent symbol and component of an overall field. Homeworks translates the artist’s street-based visual language into screenprint while retaining the conceptual connection to pixels, modules and coding. The restrained red, black and white palette reinforces the work’s graphic clarity and retro-digital character.
